I read in somes siemens manuals for Step 7 that you can use the MPI port of the S7-400 CPU's like a Profibus DP port for commmunicate with the DP slaves, but there is not specify information about that. Can anyone tell me how to do that? What do I need?

If the CPU you are using is a 2-DP this is possible. Open up the Hardware Configurator and open up the object properties for the CPU. Change the MPI to Profibus for network properties.

You need only to configure MPI/DP interface to DP, under HW configuration of Step7.
