I have about 10 stepper motors (all the same) and need to calculate the MTBF (Mean time before failure) on them. Typically they should be around 8,000 to 10,000 hours. How can I arrive at this figure by just running them for much shorter time duration? Any formulas or ideas please.

 

Run them hot and at high current. There are correlations from accelerated life at 2000 hrs. to design life. I would use the applicable Mil-Spec here but, I don't know what standards body you would use there.
