I need to multiply an analogue value, from a sensor, by another value. The result will drive a digital display. I am looking for a standard product, not a PLC. I could build an amplifier, use one signal as the source, the second as the gain. Is there an industrial product of this nature?

The first signal represents an area of material on a conveyor belt. The second signal is the speed of the belt. The product of the two is then the volume being transfered.

Any help on achieving this will be appreciated.

 

Use a computing block that can be DIN rail mounted from for example

http://www.lee-dickens.biz/process/sigcon_math.htm#LMN-Block to do the calculations and use the output to drive the display.
