Hi folks:

I have released the initial version of the Modicon Ethernet Library (MEL) for Linux. This library will eventually allow a programmer direct access to an ethernet connected Modicon PLC. It has only had limited testing with a 984-145 connected through a Modbus Plus to Ethernet gateway (174-CEV-200-30). It should work with older Modbus Plus based PLC's as well as Quantums and Momentium I/O units.

As I type this in, Freshmeat has not yet posted the appindex record, so searching for Modicon turns up nothing. Hopefully, by the time you read this, the project will show up at Freshmeat.
