I have a ControlLogix PLC with an AB 1756-IF16 Analog Input card. Most of the AI's coming in are loop powered, but 1 is not. Best solution?

I bought this and thought it would work:

But the customer says it doesn't work and says that this will work:
http://www.miinet.com/products/data_sheets/six.pdf

Why would the second item work but not the first?

The Phoenix Contact device is a passive, loop powered isolator and the Moore Industries device is an active, powered isolator. If your I/O's input is not isolated, you may have a ground loop that will keep the PC unit from working. PC also makes powered isolators. I would talk to PC since you bought the PC isolator already. If you get not joy, the folks at Moore Industries are excellent at technical support. Give the people at Phoenix Contact a chance, first.

That may be the problem.
