We need a simple program that we can use to write a program that sends info to the PLC. Our use is simple and SCADA seems overly complicated and expensive. We make machines that are identical in batches of 10 and need to use the same software for each machine. We need some development software that we would purchase but its not practical to purchase for every identical machine. Any guidance much appreciated.

You can use Citect SCADA Software to connect to the PLC.

 

Off the shelf Visual Basic + Off the shelf Omron ActiveX component = cheap. If you don't have a VB programmer or anyone that knows VB handy and you want to get your software done on time, contract one.
