having an Omron controller link network setup between several PLC's, i am wondering if a can monitor but also program via one single ethernet module connected to one of the PLC's (providing they support the module) and thus via a PC on a LAN?

I know this can be achieved via a serial link to any of the PLC's on the network, but would also like to do the same via a PC in the office via ethernet and therefore possibly a scada package.

Yes this can be done, you will have to set up the routing table in the plc with the ethernet card.
The plc with the ethernet card will act as a router. The ethernet will be a seperate network from the controller link.
