On-line Refractive Index Measurement

Can anyone provide information on the continuous on-line measurement of refractive Index? Various technologies? Maintenance requirements and
in-plant reliability/availability? Equipment Vendors?

I have measured concentration of glycol by various methods, but had the most
success with the K-Patents refractometer. It gives a 4-20ma output which
can be used for process control. We used this to mix specific
concentrations on demand.
Instead of measuring the refractive index, for example inevaporator control, glycol dilution control (including when aerated) for %solids, concentration etc you can consider density and in the case of viscous fluids, viscosity measurment. Solartron (www.solartron.com) is one supplier of density systems
