I need an OPC server for Honeywell UDC3000 controllers and also for the optomux device, Opto22. Also I am using an HMI that i created on Matlab. So the OPCserver should be compatible for these clients... do i need to use separate servers for each device and the HMI or will one server be able to communicate with all the clients?

Hello,

You will be requiring two dedicated OPC Servers for each controller. The HMI by default should include an OPC client & act as client to both servers. If you want detailed information feel free to contact me at:

I offer an ActiveX component that supports both UDC3000 and Opto22, along with many other devices. It costs USD899 and can be downloaded from http://www.nivaltec.com/download-e.htm (TAS-HMITalk 7.5).

Currently I am developing an OPC interface for this product which will probably be based on WinTech OPC Server libraries which seemed to work OK so far (I tested it with three OPC clients, including a Rockwell Software OPC client). The product is 90% ready and will behave as a multi-driver OPC server, offering all the drivers that are currently offered with TAS-HMITalk (you can see a list of them at http://www.nivaltec.com/drivers-e.htm).

If you are interested in me quickly finishing developing this product, I would put it on top of my priorities and provide you with a beta version in a few days and a final version in 10 or 15 days for USD1200 (half of that will help me to cover the WinTech license). Let me know if you are interested.
