why do oxygen and chlorine service pressure transmitters have inert fill fluid in their capsules? what would happen if a silicone oil filled capsule is used instead?

If your capsule develops a leak it will burn.
And it will burn very hot!

clorine will support combustion just as easily as oxygen with the same results. But instead of getting water vapor as a product you get hydrochloric acid.

However it is still dangerous.
