Panelview Hyperterminal code

I've seen at least two Allen Bradley Panelview Plus, models 700 and 1000, with a black display but not a hardware problem, and plugging the serial out into my computer Hyperterminal reveals the device has halted its normal boot routine and the PC reads "Raptor Monitor." Trying the read commands and get some CPU register data, like ur 0 and ur 1, perhaps from status registers with long strings of 0's.

Any help appreciated.
