Im doing my enginering thesis on a hovercraft automation project. I am wondering if there is a way, using a PC to be able to read 9 pressure channels at the same time and make control decisions based on those pressures. So id be controlling all 9 channels of analogue and digital in parallel?

 

At the same time would be fairly expensive but doable. If you could settle for inputs muxed in a very small interval (microseconds), any decent DAQ card would do. I am using one that has 16 single ended or 8 differential analog inputs, 24 digital (ttl) IO pins programmable as inputs or outputs in groups of 4 and two analog outputs. I am using this for ATE running on Linux. The Linux Lab Project has drivers for quite a few cards. All of this is free except the card. I use the ComputerBoards DAS1602 but there are easier cards to use if you are
not acquiring waveforms. There are also sample and hold or track and hold cards if you must have simultanious sampling.
