PID process simulator

In order to demonstrate the practical phenomena of PID controlled processes to young students, without the burden of all the formula's to start with, I would like to find a Windows oriented program that clearly visualises the various settings, of a virtual proces loop. Is there any program in the market that performs such visualisation?

Your help will be very much appreciated.

I just took an introductory Process Control couse in chemical engineering that relied heavily on this program...it is simple to understand and yet it can do complex tasks.

One of the best sources for this that I've found is an inexpensive booklet (actually about 90 pages) and companion PID software:

Some months ago I asked the same question and got a PID simulator, a very simple program mailed to me by some coleague in Europe, unfortunately his e-mail is no longer functioning.

I can try to e-mail it to you, it is a little heavy, 2.3 Mb.

Pls. reply.

Maybe you could post it somewhere so anyone can just download it? Did it come with a copyright notice authorizing distribution?

i have check this simulator , it 's really good thank you, Iam student and my project is to develop about the same simulator to tune PID and tom connect the pc with the hardware and see the reaction on the software. I would like to have some ideas of the codes in which language to develop such software. Thank you.

Friends,

Use INTUNE from Controlsoft, Inc. It is a Windows-based tool; very friendly, easy as fill in the blanks. It has all the algorithms embedded. All you have to do is fill in your values and it does the rest.

Manmeet

While not free (but certainly inexpensive), you can find an excellent book and software on PID at:
