I've got a job interview for a company who require me to know about PLC's in particular the networking of them. I'm just about to complete my BSc in Applied Computing and since very little on PLC's were done during the course, any information would be greatly appreciated.

PLCs from the same manufacturer will network together relatively easily. PLCs from different manufacturers on the same network will be much more difficult. You should be able to get assistance from the supplier of the PLCs to get the network set up.

If the PLCs are to be networked to a SCADA system, the SCADA software should include the communication protocols for all of the brands and models of PLC involved.

I suggest you admit to the prospective employer that your knowledge of PLCs is not deep, and express your willingness to do what it takes to learn about them.
