PLC vs. Flow Computer

Daniel has come up with a new Supervisory computer (Dan-Pac) and Krohne has a Flow Computer product called Summit 8800.

Previously, for auxilary function on a metering skid (oil) we need to add PLC. We also need another flow computer to govern Prover. Both of them have come up with solution to eleminate PLC used on the oil metering skids.

Summit 8800 can handle proving action, control valve & MOVs.

Dan-Pac is also doing the same, when it takes all the the off-skid instrumentation control.

In your opinion, can we have better control this way?

Thanks in advance.

There are more solutions. Have a look at www.spiritit.com and check our Flow-X series of flow computers. We supply a flow computer that includes control functionality, as well as a web-server for HMI purposes. Programmed from a spreadsheet. Something really new!
