Is there such a pneumatic controller used for steam turbine driven feedwater pump's control valve, which controls the speed of the feedwater pump from the pressure setting corresponding to feedwater pressure?

 

Wow, what an interesting question. I bet I can guess the approximate age of the person asking! 30 to 40 years ago, ALL feedwater pump controls worked just as was asked. The general march of technology has been to get away from these pnuematic controls.

I am sure many companies produce these kind of controls, but I am having trouble coming up with names. The only name that jumps out is Hagan Controls. I seem to recollect that Hagan was a component of the old Westinghouse, but it could also have been GE. Honeywell was always prominent in pneumatics.

I'm pretty sure anyone who remenbers these controls will have gray hair, if any hair at all! Good luck!

 

First off, thanks for your response. Yes, I do have a bit of gray hair, but my age has nothing to do with the old control technology I happened to ask about. I asked that question because I wanted to learn pneumatic controls due to my recent re-assignment to an old steam-powered water pumping station which still uses those controls.
