There are numerous articals on current inrush and its effects but I cant find anything on pneumatic inrush (this may not be the correct term). I see the effects of this on systems where the pressure is rapidly increased. ie wrapping pointers on pressure gauges and blowing the diaphragms in regulators etc.

 

If the problem is during start-up of a machine (applying air to the entire machine), then on pneumatic systems you can use a soft-start. This increases air pressure gradually from zero over several seconds and is commonly integrated with a solenoid activated dump valve.

If the problem is during operation of the machine, then you probably either need to buy better quality guages, or evaluate the machine design again.
