I have a 12 volt system using a 1200 gph pump that flows water thru a 1/2" clear tubing into a centrifuge. I would like an inexpensive electronic way to control the flow without using a valve. I have done some research on potentiometers, but they tell me it can't be done. The pump is 12 volt, 4amp max. I would like the range to be from 0 to 4amp so I can precisely control the flow.

Please help. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

google "DC motor controller". Kits are about as cheap as you can manage.
