Prescribed intrinsic curvature control of a set of springs

Hello everyone, I am working on a project where I need to control a set of springs connected as in the rough sketch above, the black lines are rigid bodies, green coiled thing represent springs.
- I have to actuate from where the box is represented in the sketch
Question: how can prescribe an intrinsic curvature that I can control on the springs, like as in the swimming of a fish? is there any theory that I can use or any specific methods which can allow me to do it?
