Guys... I need help. Do you know what pressure sensor is good for a punching bag project? I am trying to make punching bag that can see the power of the hitter when they hit it.
I would expect to use either a piezo based pressure sensor, or an accelerometer. Note that either one will require some additional support circuitry to filter, etc. the signal. I would look at the piezo first.
A pressure measurement is always a differential measurement: Applied pressure vs some other pressure (absolute zero, atmosphere, another pressure) as a reference. Does pressure sound suitable for measuring the force applied to a punching bag?
Did you ever find out how to measure the pressure of a punch? Because I'm doing a project to see if you hit harder with a straight, a hook, or an uppercut. Please help me.
I would think an air bladder bag and a pneumatic pressure transducer would give a reasonable indication. You would need something with a fast a/d or peak detector electronics to catch the peak values.
