That is not a diferent approach, it is the same logic perspective, but those terms that you refer to are, in practice (the real and everyday world) common terms to the people involved with control systems, long time ago.

Maybe you are familiar with programming, but you are getting confused because other people call the functions by a different name. I suggenst you to visit the page:
