ProcessLogix (or PlantScape) and Wonderware Historian

I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried using the Wonderware Historian with a ProcessLogix (or PlantScape) control system.

Assume you mean Wonderware's InSQL, which the new version 8 will do DDE, Suitelink, and new a CSV file for data collection. So you will need 1 of those 3 means to get the data into InSQL.

Isn't the ProcessLogix the dcs system from AB. Then why not interface directly to the PLC's/devices (you then will be able to use the WW IOServers to take advantage of Suitelink protocol)?

1. figure out how you will get data into InSQL (be it WW IOServer's going directly from the PLC's or RSLinx and trying to interface with the ProcessLogix system)

2. create a dummy InTouch app(easier with InTouch's dbdump/dbload utility) just for import (only capable of importing a tagname.x file anything else would be a manual tag configuration in InSQL) into InSQL (you do not have to run InTouch) and maintain the InTouch's tag dictionary instead of having to manually create those tags in InSQL.
