Can anyone advise where I can get competitively priced Profibus-DP master cards for installation into a PC? Preferably PCI card but ISA acceptable. If there is an Ethernet to Profibus-DP module this would also be considered. Most products on the market that I have looked at seem to be around US$1000 with OPC server S/W.

Have a look at Hilscher. There you find the CIF cards, which I think is best buy (price/performance wise). Also, there you have PKV40, an Ethernet to -DP device. Their url is http://www.hilcher.com

Try Beckhoff (www.beckhoff.com) <http://www.beckhoff.com)> . They should
have not expensive PCI Profibus DP cards. But I don't know if their OPC has capability to communicate directly over Profibus to remote stations.
