I want to communicate with ModBus RTU Temperature scanner with the AB's SLC 5/03 processor. 1746 BAS is only supporting the ASCII, i want to make the master which can access the temperature on RS485 network. Provide some Links and Prog. Tips Please!

 

Prosoft is a rockwell encompase partner that makes a module that sits in the ab racks and communicates modbus protocol.

This should do it for you. The Omnii-Comm can be configured as either a Modbus Master or a Modbus Slave and support both Modbus ASCII or Modbus RTU.
