I'm trying to use Simulink to send a PWM control signal to a brushless motor controller (which in turn is connected to a brushless dc motor).

The controller has a PWM-input cable (3 wires). Is it possible to connect my PC (using serial port?) to this controller and use Simulink to send a control signal?

 

You can use free software for produce any signals on RS-232 from Simulink - see for example

If you are still looking for a controller that is capable of that, I believe Anaheim Automation has all types of controllers. They even make custom ones sometimes.

Also if you go to the downloads tab, you can find user guides to help you out with your project.

If your driver has that capability of communicating with the PC then it shouldn't be a problem to connect via a serial port.

You can also use a pulse generator as a PWM signal into your controller. Some controllers allow that type of signal input as well.
