Read/write to 32-bit display when the PLC uses 16-bit?

How to read/write with modbus RTU to display with 32-bits when the PLC is using 16-bit? What should i think of when i do this? Is it possible? The display is hardware coded with 32-bit modbus. Can i write a driver for it?
