Recommend a Mutimeter

Hello,

I'm looking for a Multimeter that can also do 4-20ma and 0-10V loop simulations. Sink & Source.

Please recommend me a product (without it being a £400 Fluke).

Thanks!

They are not called 'multimeters' (DVM or VOM that an electrician uses), because they source current or voltage.

Try searching for: 4-20mA loop calibrator

I would suggest that you search Google for "Process Calibrator." Beamex, Extech, Ametek, Altek, etc also make process calibrators as well as a herd of others.

I agree that Fluke makes fine products but it was left out of the list I gave because the original poster somewhat precluded Fluke from the discussion in his post, e.g. "Please recommend me a product (without it being a £400 Fluke)."

You get what you pay for. I have used exclusively Fluke multimeters since the 1970s when I bought a Model 8020a. I used it until it was stolen. I now use two-- one that I keep in my briefcase. Just because I now edit a magazine doesn't keep me from needing a good multimeter from time to time.
