I could really use some help here:
I have a need to implement redundant OPC servers which connect to a serial multidrop network.
I'd like to designate one OPC server running on Machine A, as primary, and a second copy of the server on Machine B as backup.
My OPC client already supports failing over to an alternate OPC server.
I can use a terminal server or Lantronix device server to make the serial connection available to either server.
What I need is a scheme for negotiating between the two OPC Servers, which one should take control of the serial port.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
