reformer steam to carbon ratio control

Hi everybody!
I want to know if there is a solution to upgrade the H/C control in a reformer? I have heard about Coriolis flowmeter but I need more details about this solution ( block diagram.)

Hello,

I am not sure if you are asking about instrumentation to add in order to do ratio control or about an upgrade of the control algorithm itself. In the latter case you may take a look at fig.8.27v in the 4th edition of Bela Liptak's "Process Control and Optimization" volume of Instrument Engineer's Handbook.

I would also suggest model predictive control of the reformer. MPC will keep the process at the optimal operating point and will take into account existing constraints.
