Hi,
We have a site that would like to remove the RSView HMI in favor of aX. The long term strategy would be to move all of the PLC logic into the redundant aX servers to simplify maintenance and improve operations by using the more powerful software. The PLCs then would be shuttling data to and from the I/O and doing the odd routine here and there.
AB PLCs are using ControlNet. We don't have a control net class or "driver" built as yet (we do have DeviceNet classes).
Last time we looked at something like this we figured RSLinx and OPC was the way to go for an interface.
Just wondering how robust the RSLinx is, and if anyone has done a similar installation?
Thanks,
Paul Jager
