Looking for a controller substitute where output is to a DC amplifier and then into a Thyristor Driving Unit. Thyristor Driving Unit is driving the thyristor unit which is varying current to heater elements.

Hi there,

My suggestion would be to go for something simpler. The one I worked on before was similar to yours (also heater control) but there is no need to stick with it, there are much simpler systems available today.

I have found something that is a all in one unit and very versatile. It can also take a 4 to 20mA input, so it can be connected directly to a PID controller in the DCS or a stand alone PID hardware controller. The output is already the firing mode to the SCR's and is selectable.

If you need a PID hardware controller to go with it, here's a good one. If not use the DCS PID controller you use now.
