Can any one suggest a suitable replacement of the float type Level switches used in measuring oil level in seal pot of a pump? The seal pot is at present pressurized using N2 to about 3 kg/cm2.
You may want to consider a sonic switch as made by Ametek Drexelbrook or Thermo Electron. This type of technology has been used successfully in the past.
We have been facing the same problems at IPCL, India. Is this solution an economically viable one ? The reason that I ask this question is a new level switch would cost around 350 USD, what would be the approxiamte cost of a retrofit guided wave ?
