I am asking this for a Chevron engineer who is currently off-shore on a platform in wonderful, sunny Thailand. He has an Omni 6000 flow computer as Modbus slave, but has not been able to use a Schneider CEV MB/TCP to MB/RTU bridge to communicate to the Omni by Modbus/TCP. I know they work, because have seen Omni+CEV in the field over the years, but i was never involved with setup.
Does anyone have any tips for connecting Omni flow computers to Ethernet using 3rd party ENet/Serial devices? Does anyone know if the OmniView tools use true Modbus/TCP? Omni sells Ethernet cards for the 6000, but
this site doesn't have any.
Many Thanks
- Lynn
(yes, the CEV competes with products my company makes/sells, but I've worked off-shore in Vietnam before and know what a royal pain it is to obtain new items - FedEx doesn't make such house-calls ;^) I'm trying
to help him get what he has working first!)
