i am trying to connect a siemens s5 plc to my laptop but i need a converter to do this. Can you please send me the schematic for this little appl.?

I'm not sure what is on the S5 PLC end, but if you want to go from 232 - TTL look at the MAX232 (or similar) chip from Maxim. If this won't do it, I'm sure there is an app note with a schematic for a similar part.
