Could anyone suggest me how to convert S5-115 CPU 945 to be Fault-Tolerant system for this application? Central Unit with CPU 945 connected to 3 Expansion Rack through IM304 and IM306, the total analog inputs for this systems is 128 points.
I found that CPU 942H was designed for this kind of application but its execution time is slower than CPU 945 and support only 64 points for analog input. I don't know that is it possible to use S5-155H or S7 system for central rack and still use the old expansion rack with I/O to save the cost of conversion.
