Could any one suggest what Self-Tuning PID modules are best available. Could it be integrated with S7-400 system?

You did not specify how you wnated to integrate these controllers. Most controllers are self tuning. Two brands that i am familiar with are
Barber Colman / Eurotherm and Syscon RKG. Both brands can use RS 232 / RS 485 with Modbus protocol. Additionally, Barber Colman is OPC compliant as well as supports DeviceNet.
