Sensor for Sugar-Cane Mill Shoot

<p>We want to install a sensor for the shoot height of sugar-cane before a mill. The shoot height is not homogenous. The shoot slope is vertical (open shoot, feeding from an horizontal conveyor, then down by gravity directely to the mill cylinders at the shoot bottom). It is difficult to fix an ultrasound sensor at the top. It is more suitable that we fix a capacitive sensor at the wall. The setup is shown below.

You may want to consider laser. Look into Ktek or Optech. This method would measure the chute height only below the sensor.

Dear Mr. Hssan,

Please let me know whether you are intrested in 0 to 100% contineous measurement or no. of level switch. Because in both the cases these level signals (Continuous or discrete) can be interface with the variable frequency drive of feeding conveyor.

We suggest you use level sensor or analog sensor to output to PLC or panel meter to control it.
Our place in Taiwan. We knew some manufactory have procuess panel meter of I/O for 4~20mA or 0~5V or 1~5V.

We know Siemens, Dafouss, Hnoeywell to have this kind of sensor to offer to your application.

If you want to measure the level of cane on the conveyor going into the crusher, we (SMAR) have an excellent solution to this used in many Brazilian
mills and elsewhere in the world.

A piece of sheet metal is hinged in one end while the other "surfs" atop the cane on the conveyor. A position transmitter measures the position of this
"toucher" (palpador):
