Hi and hello everybody,

I want to have small servo drive standalone for single axis positioning for small motor of 5A and 4nm torque condition with resolver.
what is the cost effective solution for this application.

Thanks in advance

Single axis servo controller with build-in amp for brushless (?) motor from Elmo (www.elmomc.com) maybe suggested. These digital products are very user friendly and simple for programming. Also you'll not have problem with interface between controller and amp.

I've had success with both Copley Controls and Kollmorgen drives with basic servo drive positioning. Copley is probably lower priced, but you may have to purchase a motor from another firm, such as MCG. You also need to understand motor and servo theory. Copley is more geared towards volume OEM applications. Kollmorgen is more user friendly.

You might also look at SureServo from Automation Direct. I haven't used those, but the prices are good and they have very good support.

If you haven't done this before, you should consider a local vendor that can provide on-site support.

Any servo application will require knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems to integrate properly.
