Siemens's DCS system for power plants

Hello people,
I'm interested in new trends in DCS in power plant generation. I know that the most popular DCS from Siemens is(was) Teleperm XP. I wonder if Siemens continued to develop TXP or there is now trend to migrate it to PCS7. Will PCS7 become an alternative for TXP? I know that PCS7 is general purpose DCS and TXP is manily delevoped for power plants. Do you know more about this?

Thanks

Hello Mikas,

TXP, now known as SPPA-T2000 is being replaced by the new Siemens Power Plant DCS, SPPA-T3000 (http://www.powergeneration.siemens.com/en/ic/po/systems/sppa_t3000/index.cfm)in most instances. With regards to TXP. One major recent development is the ability to utilize S7 processors with the existing HMI and S7 I/O. This allows for a gradual migration to SPPA-T3000 if desired or extended use of the TXP system well in to the future. In an earlier post, I made mention of the website http://www.sppaview.com. In the near future, this website will have a sample SPPA-T3000 project that can be viewed. You can login for free with login demo and password demo.

Hello;

PCS7 is effectively the next generation of I&C used by Siemens in their power generation applications. They use PCS7 as a control system, but integrate their specialized functions devised for Teleperm; they call the new program SPPA-Tx000 (the T stands for Teleperm).

Here is a link to teir presentation site, you should find a lot more information there:

Hope this helps,

Try putting Siemens T3000 into your favourite search engine. This will point you in the right direction.

Hello,

Thank you for your information. Also, I wonder what hardware is used with SPPA-T3000? I know that TXP use Function modules (I'm talking about FUM variant) and have processors based on S5 framework (I hope I used correct term). On the other hand, it seems that new DCS SPPA-T3000 is using S7 hardware like any standard S7-300/S7-400 PLC. I'm not sure about this and I'd like someone more experienced to share information with us.

Thanks very much.

SPPA T3000 also available with FUM, the connection to S7 400H CPU is using profibus DP with IM1616 in FUM rack.
