Small 100% Duty Cycle Linear Actuator

Looking for small linear actuator with stroke of 2-4 inches. Force requirement is only about 5-10 lbs. Firgelli's L12 model would be great however my application requires nearly a 100% duty cycle and they only offer 20%. Is this just due to heat buildup?? Size requirements are tight as both extended lenth and width and height must be minimized. Width and height MUST be less than 2" x 2". Control within 1/16" will also be necessary.

Any suggestions?

Most actuators have a rated duty cycle at the rated load. If it is a ballscrew actuator, you should be able to use the actuator at 100% duty cycle, but at much less than rated load. If it is an acme screw actuator, then you have to be more careful. An acme screw actuator with a plastic nut will overheat even with no load. It is best to contact the actuator manufacturer to let them guide to the correct actuator.

Check out the Linak LA12. These are rated 100% with 12 or 24 VDC drive. I just purchased 6 of these.
