Hello list,

Just wonder if anyone has came across any articles or information about PLC comparisions. Specifically, I am looking for functions, I/O capacity, Ease of programming, cost, maintainability....etc... for Allen-Bradley,
Mitsubitshi, GE Fanuc, Omron, Modicon.

Please forward information via reply to this email.

Thank you very much.

hope you know how to dream the impossible dream!

all the plc manufacturers seem to go out of their way to disperse performance specs, options, module information, etc. in as many publications as possible (if they even bother to publish them). even if you get the information, it will be a major task to normalize it all into a cohesive comparison chart. it will be like comparing apples and oranges, runners and swimmers, movie stars, etc.

Hi,
I don't have the answer to your questions, but I have made some researchs on small PLCs with the principal characteristics:
- communication (with open bus)
- cost
I have found 2 PLCs:
TSX nano from Schneider : Modbus slave communication is integrated and Selectron PLCs: CanBus is integrated.
I have chosen TSX nano because of their different models.
Others PLCs have rs232 but rarely an integrated open bus protocol.
Regards.
