Soda Ash solution density measurements

Anyone have any comments (good or bad) on the use of vibrating fork density instruments or on-line refractometers for concentration measurement of soda ash solutions?

Thanks,
Jeff

I have installed on-line refractometers for exactly this purpose and they are working nicely. A very big advantage (in my application) is that the refractometer is not affected by bubbles and solids in the solution. The only drawback is that the sensor must be fitted with a nozzle in the pipe to incraese the flow velocity over the prism in order to aviod deposits. The sensors were provided by K-patents and they also provided the nozzle. They have an office in the US.
