I need insight to building speed and position control system . This systems is supposed to work as a video camera holder for recording purpose, it is guided by a remote controller.

Hi Nebiyou

To implement and position and speed control you need speed control for the motor you are using. It comes with driver inbuilt. Secondly to control the position you need position controller which can acept the type of position feedback you are using.
You have to decide whether you are implementing this hardware on the your
microcontroller or the PC based system. If plan to use PC then many suplier provides the complete solution for that with the standard buses like PCI.

Another option is Warner's packaged drive and programmable controller SS2000D3i. It has a built in drive, encoder input for close loop control, 16 input and 8 output and BASIC-like programming.
