Step motor: Powermax II

Hello List,
Currently I am maintaining an equipment that has a step motor from
Pacific Scientific, Powermax II with Model no. M22NSXB-JDS-NS-02. My problem is the occasional burning of its 8 pin connector that is directly mounted on the end of the motor body.
Can somebody help me out to know what is the problem? Thank you.
