Switching supply of house load

Hello,
I was searching the forum about house load and found very few useful information. I'm curious about one thing and that is supplying house load of a unit.

For example, for a thermal, fossil fuel, power plant house load is about 8-10%. This means that fans, pumps, mills and similar are consuming power that is roughly up to 10% of power generated from the unit. Now, when unit is not synchronized to the power grid and in startup phase, these motors are fed from other sources. Now here comes an interesting point, and that is: when to switch supply of these motors to be from generated power of its own unit?

Normally, there is a house load transformer that takes part of generated power for house load. After the unit is synchronized, when this transformer is switched on, so the unit's consumers can be fed from generated power instead of other sources.

Thanks
