can anyone please give an wiring diagram for the pc to plc connection cable for the telemecanique tsx172 series so that i can make it myself and if you can tell me where i can download the software PL7-2.

 

The software for the Telemecanique TSX17-2 is not freeware. The DOS based package, for type PL7-2, was Schneider Electric (Telemecanique)part number TSXLPL712V5E. I do not know if it is still available from them.

I know the TSX17-2 programming port is RS485, but I do not know the actual pin outs. You might try searching at "www.schneiderautomation.com":http://www.schneiderautomation.com .

 

Cable has a signal converter built into it, you're more than likely not going to be able to make it yourself, and the software still has a price tag, so you're probably not going to be able to download it. Best bet is to upgrade the PLC to a TSX37 (Micro) and convert the application into that with PL7.

 

The programming software for the TSX17xxx plc is currently available. The programming cable part number is TSX17ACCPC and it is also still available for sale. For further information, contact Schneider Automation at 1-800 468-5342.
