But what is it (exhaust temp control set point) referenced to during the start up time when bleed valves are full open and PCD is zero (or nearly zero)? I've seen our MARK II control often switch between start up, temp control modes during the start up phase...

You should have a warm up period where exhaust temp is regulated to 550 F. When the warm up expires, acceleration control takes over. Check your temp control calibration parameters for more information

Little known fact. Temp control is the only signal that can drive VCE to ZERO.
