Can anyone tell me about the Trane Tracer and Summit protocols? Is there a published spec or guidelines anywhere? Any help would be appreciated.

Both are using a bacnet/arcnet protocol. If you search for bacnet on the web, you will find information.

Tracer Summit does support BACnet, as well as several **proprietary** communication protocols, depending on type of equipment. Newer versions of Tracer Summit (and equipment) support LonTalk, which is an **open** protocol. See www.lonmark.org or www.echelon.com for details.
