Is it possible to communicate between TSX Quantum and Siemens S7-300 via Siemens Industrial Ethernet? Is there any driver for Unity Pro (e.g. loadable function block) or something that can help with this work?

Thank you!

Hello Sergey,

You have a number of options to choose from.

1. Use a gateway, most likely the Quantum uses Modbus TCP and the S7 profibus or Profinet. The gateway solution may not be the cheapest, but requires minimum amount of work.

HMS has differnt gateways, see below:
Profinet to Modbus TCP
http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=302&ProdType=Anybus X-gateway

Profibus to Modbus TCP
http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=244&ProdType=Anybus X-gateway

2. You can get FB´s for your S7 from Siemens and have it set up as a Modbus TCP slave and thus the Quantum will communicate directly with the S7.

3. You can use OPC. Get an OPC server for both the PLC´s and get a OPC client to handle the data exchange.

I am quite sure that there are other solutions as well.
