Twido VF counting

I have to measure a metal sheet and to cut it to a specific dimension. For this small application I use the following: - ---Twido PLC TWDLCAA10DRF-XBTN200

To measure the metal sheet length I use a robber wheel mounted on an Heidenhain TTL 1000ppr encoder.

Can I connect the TTL encoder to the very fast counter inputs on Twido PLC?
If not what type of encoder I should use?

Thank you in advanced for your short answers,
Cristian

First you need to know what the maximum frequency is you are going to measure with that encoder!

Second you need a PLC with a fast counter input which is capable of detecting and counting the pulses of you encoder!

End third, you need to write a user program to handle what you wants to do!

What concerns the Twido PLC. Some type have fast counter inputs, up to 20kHz!

following website will show the wiring
